ImproLANDS Objectives
ImproLANDS’ general objective is to sustain the artistic collaboration and mobility of improvisation theatre artists, allowing them to expand their skills and fields of work. This will reinforce the fragile cultural ecosystem of inner areas and continue to expand ongoing artistic and cultural practices towards cross-sectorial cooperation.
1.
To foster societal bonds, resilience, and well-being as well as personal and social transformation through improvisation theatre, i.e. theatre within, by and for local communities living in remote and/or vulnerable areas;
2.
To promote the transfer of audio-visual skills and encourage participants to take the lead in video-making and be the ‘directors’ of their stories using participatory video techniques (PV);
3.
To revitalise inlands from a cultural point of view, by creating theatre representations that can potentially broaden access to culture and attract new audiences;
4.
To stimulate a constructive cultural debate and dialogue among artists, public administrators, and relevant local stakeholders on critical issues such as the socio-economic needs of internal areas, the importance of culture in driving sustainable and innovative solutions, and the awareness-raising potential of the arts as regards health and societal stigmas.
